Your model came from the factory with tapered bearings. Tapered bearings are better than roller ball bearings at handling forces exerted on the bearing during cornering (known as axial load) in trucks and large cars. Roller ball bearings work well for smaller cars, but replacing a tapered bearing with a roller ball bearing will result in increased wear and faster failure.

Excellent all around!
Locally, the cost of this wheel bearing and hub assembly was $150-$225. I am all about buying local but the same part was $100 less with free shipping. When I asked them why there was such a difference in price, they told me it was a convenience fee. Well, there was nothing inconvenient about this purchase. Quite a bit of rust on my truck, so it's why I ordered the mounting bolts with my new bearing. Good thing too because I had to cut one of my old bolts to change out the bearing. After that things were a breeze. Simple install and the parts were perfect.

Great Product for a fraction of the cost
This is the second one of the Hub assemblies that I have purchased for my 97 Tahoe 4x4 and they work great. The other one has been on my vehicle for over a year now and I have had no problems with it at all. Everything lines up perfectly. The only thing that I noticed was that the lugs are slightly shorter than stock, but as I said before, the first one I bought has given me over a years use without a single problem that's why I didn't hesitate to purchase another one when I needed one for the other side. I have recommended this hub assembly to other people I know with chevy's.
