Tapered bearings are better than roller ball bearings at handling forces exerted on the bearing during cornering (known as axial load) in trucks and large cars. Roller ball bearings work well for smaller cars, but replacing a tapered bearing with a roller ball bearing will result in increased wear and faster failure.

Great deal
A great deal for an inexpensive set of bearings ,I really only needed one side but I bought the pair . But one wiring harness wire was damaged or cut thru by the weight of the wheel stud during shipping , during packaging the abs wire should be placed away from the studs .these replacements might be a ball bearing set instead of a roller bearing set (like the originals are I think ) and might not last as long but for the price they are a great deal - if I remember correctly AM states the fact honestly that they are of a ball bearing design and might not last as long as OE if subjected to side loading .They were perfect for my 2003 New England rusty Chevy truck .I didn't bother returning the other bearing but kept it as a spare as I could change out the abs sensor / cable although it was shimmed for the correct depth and I don't know if the used gm sourced one would fit . Anyway they were way less expensive than the cheap Chinese parts at the auto parts chain stores

Can't beat it!
These would have cost me 240.00 and up a piece at local auto parts. I bought 2 for 88 bucks from am auto. They are awesome hub assemblies and they work great. I will buy from am auto again!

Just install the pair of hub assembly
Got this things 2 days to my house front door. The fit my 2003 1500 Z66 Chevy Avalanche RWD only and it was a great fit. ABS wires included with new mounting brackets so you don't have worry if you break a clip removing the old one. Test drive was great. Let you know how long they last.
