Didn't fit

I'm calling ya'll today. I finally tried to have them installed yesterday. The mechanic has over 20 years experience on auto front end work. Got old one of pass.side and tried to put new one back on---it would not fit--about 5/16" difference from back horizontal bushing out to ball joint at hub wheel. Had to put old one back on---cost me a $100.00 for his labor.
